Bursa ETP Goes LIVE!!!! Author or Last edited by: Loo Poh Yin

Electronic Trading Platform (ETP) has successfully gone live on March 10, 2008. Thanks to Team Korean Exchange (KRX), Koscom and Formis Computer Services (FCS) who has jointly made it possible in successfully delivering to Bursa Malaysia.  ETP launch celebration was held at Westin Hotel on March 28, 2008. The event hosted by Bursa Malaysia saw attendance from market participants and KRX, Koscom and Formis.

This new platform, which is developed based on the Korea Exchange’s bond trading system, allows dealers to easily match bids with offers, negotiate deals and access historical data. ETP, seamlessly offers investors a real-time price quotation, allowing financial institutions and money brokers to benefit from transparent dealing.

ETP’s enhanced reporting and trading system will complement Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations of settlement and depository of bonds. This new platform replaces the Bond Information Dissemination System (BIDS) which was operated by BNM.

FCS team worked hard over the months and successfully delivered the ETP mission critical data center infrastructure, developing interfacing software to BNM and developing business intelligence for bonds analysis and reporting.

Great work and well done! FCS Team

“VMware Infrastructure for Disaster Recovery” Author or Last edited by: Ramona Morais

FST organized an event together with Jardine OneSolution (2001) Sdn Bhd for Thursday, 13 March 2008 at OneWorld Hotel. Entitled “VMware Infrastructure for Disaster Recovery”, it was targeted to educate the attendees on how VMware Infrastructure can enable one to recover from disaster so simply and cost-effectively, so much so that it may no longer qualify as a disaster. VMware enables one to recover their IT environment so simply and rapidly, and at a fraction of the cost.

In addition, VMware also unleases one’s IT environment’s hidden potential for disaster recovery by providing:

  • Rapid recovery. Deliver recovery on any system without changes or conversions
  • Simple recovery. Pool and share resources and consolidate the number of servers by as much as 10 times. Now and in the future.
  • Cost-effectiveness. Eliminate costly one-to-one mapping of production and DR hardware.
  • Ease of testing. Easily test your disaster recovery plan, without additional hardware or complex setup and cleanup steps.

Attached are some pictures.
